THE MODERATION MYTH

The “moderation” idea doesn’t work for addictive foods — one bite can trigger powerful cravings and relapse, just as a single cigarette can for a former smoker. Trying to nibble in moderation forces you into constant battle with obsessive urges; it’s usually safer and easier to avoid the trigger entirely and keep cravings extinguished.

THE PERILS OF PROCESSED FOOD

Benefits of fiber are lost:

•High fiber diet is associated with decrease in certain cancers including colon cancer.

•Fiber feeds our good gut bacteria.

•Fiber performs a cleansing or scrubbing function.

•Fiber improves digestion, stabilizes blood sugar levels, detoxifies, keeps our pH low, and helps with the excretion of unwanted substances from the body.
